YoYoYo!!!!! Today is Salvatore Ferragamo`s birthday!!!!! He was born 1898 in Bonito, Italy :) After studying shoe making in Naples for a year, Ferragamo opened his first store. 1914 he emigrated to Boston, soon he moved to California and opened a shoe repair store, with his brother. 1927 he returned to Italy. This time to Florence, and started to make shoes for the most power full women, like Eva Peron and Marilyn Monroe. During 1950`s he worked with 700 expert artisans who produced 350 pairs of handmade shoes a day. Ferragamo was always recognised as a visionary, and his designs ranged from the strikingly bizarre to the traditionally elegant, being main inspiration to other footwear designers of his time and beyond. He died in 1960, aged 62 :((((, but his names still lives on as a high fashion company selling luxory shoes, bags, eyewear, silk accessories, watches, perfumes and a ready-to-wear clothing line. The company is currently owned by the Ferragamo family, which Salvatore's widow Wanda, five children, 23
